February, 2000 News Current News | Archives

February 29th:
  • GetPaid4 members: if you want to be included in this months check mailing, today is the last day to request a check. January rates were $.48/hour.
  • CashSurfers is sending the majority of member checks today and they've published their January rates: 57 points= $.01. This works out to $.208/hour which is a 20% inrease over last month. These rates are actually very good for such a new company. If you're not a member, think about joining (link below.)
  • mValue will be sending their first checks on March 15th. Looks like they are close to announcing the final winners of their promo contest. We know that quite a few of our referrals will be getting $100 checks.
  • More info and links for all three companies above on this page.
February 28th:
  • Found a great "paid survey" company called RedPen. Review and link here.
  • Just reviewed a new "paid searching" company called Sabril. Not much info available yet but the review is on this page.

  • There's a new "paid visiting and shopping" company out called TrocoMania. The review is on this page.
February 25th:
  • There's a new "paid email" company out called ReadClick. Very good referral program. The review is on the Pay To Read Page.

  • BigReferral is planning to do their official launch in March. As far as we know they are still running the very generous referral program. More info on this page.
  • A newsflash went out today to all NewsList subscribers. We received an unusual amount of 'user unknown' undeliverable errors (over 250.) This may have been because of errors with our mail server. Addresses that return 'user unknown' are automatically deleted so you didn't get the newsflash then you'll have to re-subscribe to continue getting regular issues of the NewsList. You can do that here.
  • Welcome to the 23rd... hope all goes well... If you haven't checked out imandi yet, you might want to... It's an online discount shopping portal that will pay members $5 per referral plus $.25, $.50 and $1 for first through third level referrals respectively. We think that could add up quick. We're reminding everyone about this one because it's a limited time offer (only lasts until they've paid out $10,000,000.) More info an a link on this page.
February 22nd:
  • All UtopiAD members can enter to win $300 or a Palm Pilot. Entries must be in by February 28th. There's more info about UtopiAD on this page.
  • Shop4Cash has started sending checks. If your account has $5 or more in it, you'll be getting one. They also have some new ways to get paid on their site. For instance, if you get approved for a Discover card using thier link, they'll give you $20. Review here.
  • On February 11th ProcessTree had their account with their ISP canceled because of SPAM complaints against some of their members. Needless to say they have adopted a no tolerence policy to SPAM. Sorry SPAMers, guess you'll have to find other new business to shut down :-) ProcessTree does backup their member info offline on a weekly basis so only members that signed up between February 11th and 16th were lost. If you were one of those, you can sign up again from our review on this page. All in all, we think ProcessTree has handled all of this better than any of the others so far. They'll be back online sometime today.
  • SurfBuzz auctions have started. More info and link on this page.

  • CashSurfers appears to have sorted out most of their server problems (they are in the process of a move and an upgrade.) Checks will go out in a few days. Review and link here.
  • Spedia says that the pay rate for "premium members" was $.70 an hour in January. A premium member is anyone who surfs for an hour or more on 20 more days in a month. Great rates. More info on this page.
  • The PaidEmail site is currently down because of SPAM complaints. More info to come. It's possible that all member info will be lost (evil satanic bastards.)
February 20th:
  • Another new "paid shopping" company out called Shop4Cash. Review and link here.
  • New "paid email" company called PayolaEmail. Entertainingly bad. The review is on this page.
  • We have removed our review of Amazing Solution Paid Email. We've given this company three chances over the course of the last 6 months or so. There appears to be no hope for them.

Apparently they had actually planned to take their site offline quite some time ago and were just waiting for things to die down a bit. Someone stumbled across them and started referring people and things got out of hand. At any rate, we wish them luck in their future endeavors.
  • UtopiADs rates have gone up some. They're now around $.17/hour. This might not seem like much but with no limit on surfing hours it's not too shabby. Review on this page.

Now it's the paid email, paid referrals, paid shopping, paid surveys and other miscellaneous sections that have started to take off. If you've been focusing mainly on paid surfing so far you might want to take a look at some of the other kinds of companies out there.

  • YellowBubble appears to have lost all member info again. This company now officially holds the title as the buggiest "paid surfing" service of all time. They did take the time to make a pretty nice shockwave site (aside from the bugs) so they must just have the worlds most intellectually challenged management. Who knows, though, maybe they'll get it together soon. If you're from the UK we suggest you join anyway simply because of the shortage of good UK based companies. The review is on the UK Page.
February 1st:
  • There's a great new company out called Epinions. They will pay you to review products and services. They'll also pay for referrals. The review is on this page.
