August, 2000 News Current News | Archives

August 31st:
  • Newest issue of our monthly/bi-monthly ezine went out today. See it here.
  • It looks like HomePageRewards is giving up on their paid start page program. Probably because, unlike some of the others, they weren't able to get around the cheating problem. They're closed as of now and will be mailing checks to any member that has $20, or more, in their account. Sounds like people with less won't be getting checks. Doesn't seem quite right to us but who's going to complain about less than $20?
August 30th:
  • AllAdvantage rates will be dropping to $.20/hour for US members starting September 1st. Referral rates will be staying the same. Ah well... hopefully this means they'll be able to become profitable so they can file an IPO and stick around for good. (review here)
August 29th:
  • zDen is now paying members in 22 countries. (review here)
  • The CashFiesta website is down as has been for some time. So far they've given no explanation. Looks like they're having some major problems lately. (review here)
August 27th:
  • Starting September 1st Jackpot members will have to play the game using the website instead of the software. It also looks like the odds are going to be getting better. (review here)
  • Don't forget that all AllAdvantage members will automatically be switched to the new sweepstakes program starting on September 1st unless they log in to their account and opt to stay with the paid surfing program. (review here)
  • We thought that automatically switching members was a little cheap of AA but, on the other hand a lot of people like sweepstakes and the odds look sorta good. If you have something to say about recent changes at AA, use the message board, here.
  • The GoThruUs has redesigned their site and now pay using revenue sharing instead of a flat rate for each click. (review here)
August 25th:
  • There's another new paid surfing company out called PayBarrow. Unfortunately, there's isn't really anything good about them... Poor website design, extremely low personal and referral payrates and it's obvious they've put very little time and thought into their company so far. We won't be doing a review so here's a link if you still want to take a look. http://www.paybarrow.com/index.php3
August 24th:
  • Sorry about the lack of news lately, we've been a little behind... These reviews should catch things up...
  • New paid surfing company out that actually looks pretty good. They're called WeeGoo. Already paying. (review here)
  • New 'paid community' type company for you... InstantAgora.
    (review here)
August 22nd:
  • ePIPO stats are finally online and it looks like all members are getting paid and hours are being correctly credited. If this keeps up they'll be moving back to the top ten list. (review here)
  • Just reviewed a new paid surfing company called SurferAll... It's really bad, we're not going to post a review...don't waste your time with it.
August 21st:
  • Looks like mValue set the tone this time... Following their lead, AllAdvantage has added a new option to their service. Members can now choose to surf for entries into a daily $25,000 minimum sweepstakes. Sweepstakes start September 1st. Details in our review. (review here)
  • Just reviewed a new paid surfing company called SurferAll... It's really bad, we're not going to post a review...don't waste your time with it.
August 19th:
  • Remember that amazing looking referral incentive program from iSchool on the 16th? It appears to have already ended. Not surprising, $50 a referral was too good to be true. Hopefully a few people managed to get 10 referrals while the program was still going.
August 18th:
  • Brand new referral service from the people that did MyAd. £5 to sign up and £5 for each referral (equal to over $7 USD.) (review here)
August 17th:
  • FreeJoin has released their software and claims to be paying $.30/hour for unlimited hours as long as you're connected to the internet. (review here)
August 16th:
  • Great looking new referral offer out from iSchool. $50/referral. (review here)
  • It looks like the CGI server problems have been resolved and the Message Board and Search feature are back online for good. Also, the Message Board has been upgraded in various ways... It's now searchable, older messages are viewable by page and it can use cookies to save you time by remembering your name and email address. See it, here.
August 15th:
  • Just reviewed a brand new paid clicking program (launched earlier today) called Pays4Click. (review here)
  • New paid came out called SpaceAmbush. It's a lot like CashWars. (review here)
  • Apologies to anyone who's had trouble accessing the message board over the last couple of days... As of today at 11:30 PST it's back up and working fine. There may still be some short periods of downtime but our hosts will hopefully have that sorted out in the next day or two. See the board, here.
August 13th:
  • Another new paid visiting service that claims to be a paid playing service out called PrimeLottery. Doesn't look too bad, up to $50/month without referrals. (review here)
August 12th:
  • Just reviewed a very promising company called INeedThat. It's the most ambitious approach to paying to for looking at ads we've seen yet. (review here)
  • We've updated the Stat Links page. It now has links to the account log in pages at almost 40 companies for those of you that want to turn dozens of bookmarks into just one.
August 11th:
  • Here's something for the charitable among you... onGiving.com. They'll donate all profits from the use of their 'GiveBar' to the charity of your choice (they have over 1000 to choose from.)
August 10th:
  • Recommended new referral program out from ProPay. $10/referral. (review here)
  • CashRing has extended their referral incentive program and will be paying members $5 cash for each referral throughout the month of August.

    (review here)

August 6th:
  • RadioFreeCash has gone into full launch... Great company. (review here)
  • UK paid surfing company, YellowBubble has acquired UK paid surfing company SharkHunt. Hopefully this means that the paying launch will happen soon. review here)
August 4th:
  • New referral service out called 1800Discounts... $10 to sign up and $10/referral. (review here)
  • For anyone that hasn't heard, SurfingPrizes has lowered their rates to around 11.7 cents/hour. This is a pretty big disappointment from a previously great company. On the plus side, they promise rates will start going back up soon and they're still high enough for people to make money if you take the unlimited payable hours into consideration. (review here)
  • UniquePager has mailed July checks. (review here)

By October, ePIPO plans to start paying International members for the surfing time of their US referrals. (review here)
  • CoolWallStreet started paying today. Who knows, maybe these guys will pull it off after all. (review here)
