July, 2000 News Current News | Archives

July 31st:
  • ePIPO has announced new rates which will probably go into effect on August 1st... $.35/hour for double banner mode (35 max hours/month) and $.20/hour for the single banner mode (60 max hours/month.) This makes a members potential earings for personal surfing time higher than AllAdvantage (because of the higher payable hours.) (review here)
  • Skiddily starts paying tomorrow for both searching and using their start page. Initial rates will be $.25 for each 10 start page views. (review here)
  • ColorStamps is no more.

  • mValue good news... They are finally going to mail all delayed checks... The majority of remaining contest checks will go out August 28th. The leftovers will be mailed in September. All back payments for regular paid surfing will be mailed by the end of September. (review here)
  • mValue bad news... The paid surfing program ends on August 28th so make sure to get your full 15 hours of surfing in for July and August. (Might want to remind your referrals as well.) mValue isn't going away, however. After August 28th they will be transforming themselves into a 'surf for prizes' type company. The new setup actually doesn't look all bad. They'll be giving away $50 every hour, a $1000 prize every day, a new car every month and a $1,000,000 grand prize. There will be other prizes as well. Could turn out to be a good thing. Information about their new referral program will be available later this month. (review here)
July 26th:
  • Just reviewed a new referral based company called FreeInternetIncome... Not much info yet but it's free. (review here)
  • There's a new company out called PrizeDispenser. It's from advertising.com and gives members entries for prizes and a daily cash drawing for clicking.
    (review here)
  • Latest issue of the ezine went out last night. You can see it here. If you are already subscribed and didn't receive it you may need to subscribe again. Members are sometimes removed from the list when their server returns a mistaken 'user not found' error.
  • CashRings current ($5 to sign up + $5 a referral) promo ends July 31st. They may extend it but if you want to secure your crisp new $5 bill you'll want to sign up now. (review here)

  • We heard a rumor yesterday that mValue is planning to change their program, possibly even replace paid surfing with some kind of surf for prizes program. We contacted mValue about this an they didn't deny it. Didn't confirm it either. They just said that there would be an announcement about some changes within the next week. Could be a bad sign. (review here)

  • International paid surfing company, CashSurfers has enacted their rate changes. They now pay different rates depending on what country you're in. US and Canada rates have jumped to above $.15/hour for May, 2000 (this is good for an unlimited surfing hours company) but international rates have dropped. (review here)

  • We heard a lot of rumors that CashSurfers rates had dropped but they just sent the May checks and they're bigger than ever. (Rates actually went up because they cut down on people using cheat programs quite a bit.) (review here)
  • We got through to someone at ClickyCash and it looks like they may be legitimate. Things are definitely a mess right now (mostly because of server upgrades) but they may very well be for real. Waiting for more information from them. We'll post a mini Q and A that should answer a lot of the questions we've been getting later today or tomorrow. (review here)
July 20th:
  • A lot of people have been calling the new paid clicking company, ClickyCash, a scam. They might be right considering that they're not limiting member clicks and still claim to be paying $.30/click right now. There's no way they can afford this, especially considering the fact that a lot of the advertisements they're showing are clearly not making them any money. If it is a scam, it's just a harmless ploy to generate referrals to 'get paid' programs and maybe make a few $100 in the process. The only thing that has us confused is the fact that they seem to have spent a lot of time putting thier website and software together. More when we find out what's going on. (review here)
July 19th:
  • The message board is finally back! As with anything else involving computers, the problem was embarrassingly obvious. Now that it's back online we can continue our goal of making it the most popular forum for 'get paid' type companies on the net. From there is should be easy to launch a campaign for world domination so that we can get the brightest scientists and engineers working on the beverage dispenser thing. Do your part here.

  • UK paid suring company Shareout is no longer around but will re-launch sometime in Fall, 2000. (review here)
July 17th:
  • New paid email company out called MarkDown. (review here)

July 12th:

  • BePaid appears to have released their software to all members. Not sure if this means that they will be paying right away but, if they are, maybe they aren't as lost as we thought. (review here)

    (review here)
July 10th:
  • Apologies to anyone that's been trying to access the message board since around 1:00 AM. It's a temporary problem caused by, as yet undefined, stupidity on the part of our domain host. Could be back up anytime. There will be a message here when it's back up for good. (Sometime today.)
July 9th:
  • New paid visiting company out called PowerClick. Looks pretty good.
    (review here)

  • CashMeter (one of the newest paid surfing companies) has improved their website design in a big way. This implies they're serious and plan to stick around for a while. Worth another look. (review here)
  • Paid surfing company, CoolWallSreet seems to have disappeared. No big surprise. We're assuming death. If anyone knows otherwise, email us.
  • NetGratus has ended their referral program. Not only that, they will stop paying members for the earnings of referrals they already have on September 1st. We think this is an outright ripoff and anyone with a minute should email them and tell them this by clicking here.

  • Older paid email company, TotalE-mail's rates are starting to look better. They've been paying for 6 months now but have only recently started sending a decent quantity of paid emails. (review here)

  • Reviews of two new companies in the works... Check later tonight or tomorrow.
July 7th:
  • About mValue check delays... They will be sending the back payments from April and May in one lump some... hopefully before the end of July. Looks like things will be back to normal with them soon. (review here)
  • EmailOurWay has announced that they will be starting to send paid emails before the end of this month... Possibly within the next week. (review here)
July 6th:
  • Cywell (see yesterdays news) has a demo version of their software available to all members. (review here)
