Paid Playing :: There are lots of free ways to get paid to play games on the internet. Largely because it's a win/win situation for advertisers and surfers (no pun intended... just playing). This section reviews paid games companies as well as various free online lottery and sweepstakes services. Paid Surveys :: There are a large, and ever increasing, number of paid survey companies (market research companies that allow members to get paid to take surveys). Much more than we've reviewed here. Panelists are paid both for taking online surveys and for participating in online focus groups. We only review companies that offer free paid surveys. Never join a survey company or service that asks you for money before you can participate. Virtually any service that asks you for money up front is a scam. Reviews are below. Again, we only review companies that are free to participate in. | | CashBreak is paid games at their best. They offer a variety of games to play offering both cash and prizes to winners. They also hold a large number of drawings (prizes range from $5 to $1,000,000). Many games allow members to earn 'coins' while playing games which can be exchanged for entries into daily and weekly drawings for cash and prizes. New members receive a minimum of 600 coins (cash value of somewhere around $.60) to play with when they join and all members can get up to 25 free entries into the drawings each day. Availability: United States, Canada Referral Program: New members get 500 game coins for each referral as well as entries into a weekly referral cash drawing, $100,000 if a referral wins the $1,000,000 drawing and $5,000 if a referral wins the $50,000 drawing. AstroBingo is a very well implemented real money online bingo game. It's surprisingly fun (includes chat) and does not require any downloads. New members get $5 for free to get them started (tickets cost $.25 so that's 20 free tickets). There is a new bingo game online every 3 minutes or so and prizes range from $5 to $50+ each game. There is always a winner. It looks like they're paying out an average of around $2000 a week to bingo players right now (not including the occasional bonus prizes of $1000 and $5000). The referral program pays 5% for direct referrals. Program is international and members are paid either by check or via a credit/bank card. At the very least you'll want to sign up and play with your free $5, there's a good chance you'll win something. Availability: United States, Canada The $5,000,000 birthday game from ezSweeps gives everyone with a birthday a chance to win $500, $1000, $2000 prizes and one $5,000,000 prize. It's free to join and available to anyone over the age of 18. Multiple entries are not allowed. Availability: International MoneyBalls is a completely free (advertiser supported) online sweepstakes. Playing the MoneyBalls game gives members the chance to win up to $1,000,000. In addition smaller prizes range from $10 to $50,000 cash. Payments are made via check, as soon as a prize is won. Availability: International iWinWeekly gives members a chance to win up to $100,000 each week in their sweepstakes. Matching 6 numbers wins $100,000, 5 numbers wins $500, 4 numbers wins $5 and 6 free tickets and 3 matches wins 3 free tickets. Odds are good because they draw from only 64 numbers. Members can earn multiple free tickets each week. Availability: International Referral Program: Members and get a chance at $10,000 for each referred friend. | SurveySavvy launched in late September, 2000. They are, easily, one of the best ways to get paid for surveys on the net. Members get $3 for each online survey completed. Availability: International Referral Program: $2 for surveys taken by direct referrals and $1/survey for indirect referrals Update: Once you've joined, don't forget to fill out the 'profile enhancers'. This will qualify you for more paid surveys. MySurvey (from NFO World Group) launched in early 2001. They pay members varying amounts for each paid survey taken ranging from $.10 for simple one question surveys, all the way up to $10 for larger surveys. New members get $.25 when they join and are automatically entered into daily drawings for $100 (there is always a winner). Members also get an entry into a $10000 drawing that happens multiple times a year for each survey they complete. $10 minimum payment. One of the best, very frequent surveys. Availability: United States Referral Program: Members get $1.50 for each referral. MindField (re? launched in late 2008) is currently a very active paid survey program which both pays members cash for participating in free surveys and also enters participants in to monthly drawings from high ticket electronics. Availability: United States Referral Program: Members are paid $1 in cash for each active referral. GlobalNet Panel (launched late 2008) awards members either cash or GlobalPoints when they take paid surveys. Points can be converted into gift certificates at 1000's of merchants or into cash once a $20 threshold is reached. Available in the United States and Canada. Availability: United States, Canada Homescan is a unique consumer research company that rewards members for using a handheld scanner (provided for free) to scan in barcodes from the products they buy. Participating members earn points which can be exchanged for electronics, gifts, toys, jewelry, etc. from their Gift Catalog. Members also earn entries into monthly sweepstakes for things like vacations and cars. Availability: United States The IPSOS i-Say panel gives members cash and prizes for every survey they take. New members also receive an automatic entry into a $1000 drawing for completing their initial member survey. Additionally, all active members are entered into a drawing each month for $250 in cash and $250 to the charity of their choice. Ipsos is well established and reliable. Availability: United States, Canada, United Kingdom Neilson NetRatings is the online survey branch of the company that monitors television usage in the United States. All members are entered into a $25,000+ sweepstakes both for joining, and again each month for staying a member. There are additional sweepstakes or prizes for each free paid survey members qualify for. Availability: United States, United Kingdom, Germany Referral Program: Referrals earn members additional entries into the monthly drawings. SurveyNetworks gives members a chance to win an H2 Hummer or $50,000 makeover just for signing up. After that members can earn products, coupons and cash for taking surveys. Too new to be able to say how frequent surveys are. Availability: United States ECN Research launched in late May, 2004. Members receive an entry to win a $500 shopping spree for joining. Thereafter ECN offers cash and product incentives for taking free paid surveys. Members also receive incentives for referring their friends and family. Availability: United States, Canada The Internet Survey Panel gives members entries into drawings for a wide variety of prizes when they take surveys online. Prizes include cash, cars, gift certificates, electronics and more. $100's of $1000's in prizes are awarded each year. Availability: United States, Canada A well designed paid survey company that pays members points for taking online surveys which can be exchanged for things like gift certificates, CD's, gift cards, movies, games, etc... Rates are 100 points/survey, 100 points/referral and 500 points (equal to around $.75) to sign up. Minimum payment is a $2 gift certificate. Availability: International Greenfield Online is one of the oldest internet based paid surveys services. Members are entered to win $2000 just for joining. Thereafter each survey taken earns free products and/or chances to win cash or prizes (values range between $500 and $2500). Availability: United States Global Survey Group is currently running a $50,000 sweepstakes. Membership is free and panelists receive entries into the drawing by filling out 5-10 minute online surveys. Additional cash prizes may be awarded on a per survey basis. Availability: United States PandaResearch offers members between $5 and $35 for completing free paid surveys. Rewards are come in the form of cash, products or discounts. New members get $5 for signing up. One thing to keep in mind with this one is that members are not paid until they reach the $100 payment minimum. Availability: United States American Consumer Opinions Panel pays members in a number of ways... All registered members are automatically entered in a monthly drawing to win $250. Screener (short) internet surveys get members entries into additional cash drawings. Longer surveys pay members either in free products/gifts or in cash ranging from $4 to $25 per survey. Online focus groups pay $25 or more. You can participate regardless of where you live. Versions of their site are available in English, Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese and Japanese. Availability: International All SurveySpot members receive an entry into a cash prize sweepstakes simply for registering. Thereafter members will either receive sweepstakes entries or cash incentives for filling out paid online surveys. The sweepstakes consists of 114 prizes including four prizes of $500 each, 50 prizes of $100 each and 60 prizes of $50 each. Availability: United States, Canada, United Kingdom GlobalTestMarket is a well established paid survey service that is currently in the process of expanding internationally. Members get 50 points (equal to $2.50 to $5 cash) for surveys and 100 points for online focus groups. Members are paid in their local currency worldwide. Availability: International Referral Program: Members are paid 20 points for each referral. Esearch has been around since 1996 and runs surveys fairly often. Their incentives are usually multiple cash drawings and occasionally other prizes. They also give each member who participates in an internet survey an "honorarium".
